Corpus Christi police say they are investigating the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man that happened on Oct. 26 near Calallen.<\/p>\n
At about 11:40 p.m., officer with the Corpus Christi Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the 4600 block of Sharpsburg Road, according to a news release written by officer Madeline Vaughn.<\/p>\n
When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound and immediately began administering life-saving measures until medics arrived. Medics took the man to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.<\/p>\n
Police say they detained several people at the scene.<\/p>\n
The police department did not immediately respond on Oct. 27 when asked if anyone had been charged in connection with the shooting.<\/p>\n
The department’s Criminal Investigation Division determined that someone drew a weapon during a disturbance that night.<\/p>\n
Police say this was an isolated incident.<\/p>\n
