EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Two women were arrested after El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies said a child custody exchange in the Sparks community escalated into an aggravated assault involving a vehicle and put a 2-year-old child in danger.<\/p>\n
Deputies were dispatched Tuesday to the 100 block of Dickens Road in reference to an aggravated assault in progress, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Deputies met with the victims, who reported that during the custody exchange, the child\u2019s mother, 24-year-old Ebony Martinez, and her associate, 24-year-old Araceli Uzeta, became aggressive. <\/p>\n
Investigators said Martinez and Uzeta intentionally used their vehicle to strike the victims\u2019 vehicle multiple times during a brief chase through the Sparks area.<\/p>\n
Deputies said a 2-year-old child was inside the suspects\u2019 vehicle during the incident, placing the child in imminent danger.<\/p>\n
Both suspects fled the scene, and criminal warrants were issued for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering a child, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
Deputies later located Uzeta along with the vehicle used in the incident. <\/p>\n
Uzeta was taken into custody and the vehicle was impounded. Deputies later located Martinez, who was also taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n
Uzeta was booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering a child, with a total bond of $60,000. <\/p>\n
Martinez was booked on the same charges and is being held without bond.<\/p>\n
