\u00a0attack happened March 15<\/a> in a parking lot along the 1800 block of South Zarzamora Street on San Antonio\u2019s west side.\u00a0<\/p>\nWhen officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n
What investigators uncovered next was even more disturbing.<\/p>\n
According to the arrest warrant, surveillance cameras captured the entire assault.<\/p>\n
Video shows the victim walking through the parking lot when a red Mitsubishi hatchback approaches from behind. Detectives say Morales was behind the wheel.<\/p>\n
Investigators say Morales suddenly accelerated, striking the victim and throwing him onto the hood before he fell to the ground.<\/p>\n
Moments later, police say Morales got out of the car, approached the victim and fired four shots.<\/p>\n
The victim was struck in the head, chest and both arms, according to the warrant.<\/p>\n
After the shooting, Morales fled the scene.<\/p>\n
Authorities later tracked the suspect vehicle to a west-side home and began surveillance. Days later, when officers attempted to stop him, Morales allegedly fled again, leading to a brief chase.<\/p>\n
During that pursuit, investigators say Morales discarded a firearm. That weapon was later recovered and matched to the shooting.<\/p>\n
Detectives say additional evidence \u2014 including jail phone calls and items recovered during a search warrant \u2014 further tied Morales to the attack.<\/p>\n
Morales was ultimately taken into custody and booked into the Bexar County jail.<\/p>\n
