MANVEL, Texas (KTRK) — A now-former employee of the Children’s Museum Houston is among the suspects arrested in an online solicitation of a minor operation by the Manvel Police Department, according to the agency.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, Manvel PD shared a post announcing the arrest of seven suspects tied to the operation. Authorities said this was a multi-day operation “targeting individuals suspected of engaging in online predatory behavior involving minors.”<\/p>\n
Manvel PD said an additional four arrests are still pending at this time, but those taken into custody have been charged with online solicitation of a minor and other related criminal offenses.<\/p>\n
Louis Anthony Salinas, 50, was identified as a former manager of media production for the Children’s Museum and was listed among the suspects, according to police.<\/p>\n
In light of the arrest announcement, the museum sent ABC13 the following statement:<\/p>\n
“The safety and well-being of the children and families we serve is our highest priority.<\/p>\n
We recently became aware of serious allegations involving a former employee, and while this matter did not arise from activities conducted through our organization, we took immediate and appropriate action upon learning of the situation.<\/p>\n
We understand this matter involves a law enforcement operation and we are committed to supporting any ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n
We maintain strict policies and procedures designed to protect children, including thorough background checks and clear standards of conduct for all staff. We continuously review and strengthen these measures to ensure a safe, trusted, and welcoming environment for every child and family we serve.<\/p>\n
