MARICOPA, Ariz. \u2013 UT Arlington men’s golf wrapped up its penultimate tournament of the regular season, completing the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. The Mavericks picked up play in the second round \u2014 the round was suspended on day one due to darkness \u2014 and finished out the third and final round.\u00a0<\/p>\n
All told, UTA placed 18th with an 18-over-par 882 for the tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A pair of freshmen led the way for the Mavericks. Ajay Morris<\/a> and Arth Sinha<\/a> each finished tied for 53rd with 2-over 218’s for the tournament.<\/p>\n Morris surged up the leaderboard with a strong outing in the third round. The Avondale, Arizona-native carded a 3-under 69. The freshman birdied five holes and parred 11, shooting 36 spots up the leaderboard.<\/p>\n Sinha, meanwhile, posted a 1-over 73 in his final round. The Melbourne, Florida-native birdied a trio of holes and had a stretch of eight consecutive holes where he made par. Sinha was within one stroke of par in all three rounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Mavericks third best finisher was another freshman in Nicholas Lyman<\/a>. The Surprise, Arizona-native tied for 72nd in the field with a 5-over 221. Lyman shot a 3-over 75 in the third round.\u00a0<\/p>\n Matthew Broder<\/a> finished strong after resuming play, finishing the second round at 2-under, one of the two rounds under par from any Maverick at the tournament. Broder finished in a tie for 92nd after 4-over 76 in the final round brought him to 9-over for the classic.<\/p>\n Capping off the lineup was Michael Chevalier<\/a> who finished in 125th with a 22-over 238. The junior recorded a 10-over 82 in the third round.\u00a0<\/p>\n UTA will wrap up the regular season at the El Macero Classic, beginning April 10 and running through April 12 at the El Macero Country Club in El Macero, California.<\/p>\n UTA SCORES Team
