This would include Santa Fe. Much like Colorado, New Mexico enjoys a rich history and arts scene that the state of Colorado could protect from failed Texas rule, while also expanding access to the world-renowned Pueblo chile.

“The Santa Fe area will be a great addition to Colorado. It is no secret that Colorado and New Mexico are two of the best places to live, work and play and we would be thrilled to welcome our friends in Northern New Mexico to our great state and to protect them from aggression from Texas. Let’s be serious, there’s no way that Texas could handle actually annexing this land. We can protect the rich culture, including the arts and restaurant scenes in these communities, while also mutually strengthening our economies and avoiding spreading Texas’ failed leadership any further. Not to mention the fact that this will mean more Pueblo chiles for all. This isn’t like Trump trying to take over Greenland, it’s totally different and definitely legal. I look forward to building on the past 150 years of Colorado by growing our state in this next chapter. The partition of New Mexico will go down in history as a big win for Colorado.” said Governor Polis.

This proposal would include the land north of Albuquerque becoming Colorado territory, as well as a renaming of the “Hatch Green Chile” to the “Southern Pueblo Chile”. The annexed area itself would be known as Casa Bonita Del Sur County.

Prior to 1850, Southern Colorado and New Mexico shared the land that is known now as the San Luis Valley. In 1861, Congress created the Colorado Territory which split the valley between the states.

Colorado has a strong heritage in farming and ranching, an industry that is also strong in New Mexico. Colorado generates more than $5 billion in economic output each year, exporting products to more than 100 countries worldwide. The food and agriculture industry employs on average 115,000 Coloradans. This proposal would only increase those numbers and benefit farmers and ranchers across the new Southern Colorado and increase green chile output.

The proposal would go to a vote of the people, and if you’ve made it this far, then April Fool’s! This is a ridiculous idea, as is Texas’s very real idea to take over New Mexico and President Trump’s very real idea to take over Greenland.

###

DENVER – Following the announcement from the Texas House Speaker that they would consider taking over parts of…

[6
27,29,28
0":"post-231441","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-texas","8":"tag-texas","9":"tag-texas-headlines","10":"tag-texas-news
["GET
