{"id":231447,"date":"2026-04-02T07:00:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T07:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/231447\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T07:00:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T07:00:10","slug":"aac-opens-investigation-into-nazi-salute-by-stars-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/231447\/","title":{"rendered":"AAC opens investigation into Nazi salute by Stars fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American Airlines Center officials have opened an internal investigation after a video emerged on social media Tuesday of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/sports\/stars\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas Stars<\/a> fans doing what appears to be the Nazi salute at a game in December.<\/p>\n<p>The 18-second video, first posted on Reddit, shows a group of male Stars fans sitting in the upper deck making the gesture to the rhythm of \u201cPuck off\u201d by Pantera \u2014 the Stars\u2019 goal song \u2014 at Dallas\u2019 Dec. 21 game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at American Airlines Center.<\/p>\n<p>The user who posted the video wrote, \u201cThese boys were sitting in front of us doing a Nazi salute every time the Stars scored. I\u2019ve been to several games and never seen anything like this before. I recorded them and sent it to arena management, but they said they couldn\u2019t find the boys despite me giving them their exact seat numbers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An American Airlines Center spokesperson addressed the video in a statement to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/dallasnews.com\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Dallas Morning News<\/a>. A Stars spokesperson directed all questions related to the video to American Airlines Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerican Airlines Center (AAC) has zero tolerance for any acts of hate and\/or discrimination, and we aim to ensure an environment for our guests that is free from disruptive behavior, including foul\/abusive language and obscene gestures,\u201d the spokesperson said on behalf of American Airlines Center leadership. \u201cAs such, we strongly denounce the actions that appear to be depicted in the video footage and are conducting an internal investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll fans and attendees are expected to adhere to AAC and, as applicable, NBA or NHL Codes of Conduct when attending events. Guests who violate any such Code of Conduct may be subject to ejection from the event without refund and, to the extent their conduct constitutes a violation of applicable law, prosecution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson did not respond to The News\u2019 questions about whether these fans have been contacted or banned from future events or whether AAC officials were aware of the video before it surfaced on social media.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/fans\/fan-code-of-conduct\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The\u00a0NHL Fan Code of Conduct<\/a> states, \u201cLanguage, gestures, behavior, clothing, signs, or other personal expressions that negatively reference or demean a specific race, ethnicity, gender\/gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability status, or other identity-based characteristic will not be tolerated.
