BEXAR COUNTY, Texas \u2013 A San Antonio man is accused of stealing approximately $14,000 from a storage unit in Converse after security footage linked him to the crime, according to an arrest affidavit. <\/p>\n
Cameron Thomas Hungerford-Clay, 34, was taken into custody on Wednesday, jail records show. <\/p>\n
He faces criminal mischief and burglary of a building charges in connection with a Feb. 25, 2026, incident in the 4500 block of Texas Palm Drive, the affidavit and online court records state. <\/p>\n
The victim told authorities that their storage unit was burglarized and thousands of dollars worth of furniture, clothes and tools had been stolen, a Bexar County Sheriff\u2019s Office (BCSO) investigator wrote in the affidavit. <\/p>\n
The lock on the victim\u2019s storage unit had been \u201cforcibly cut,\u201d the investigator confirmed in the affidavit. <\/p>\n
Hungerford-Clay was seen on surveillance video cameras cutting electrical wires to those cameras while his accomplice attempted to blind the cameras with a flashlight, according to the warrant. <\/p>\n
Hungerford-Clay and the accomplice were also seen walking around the location with bolt cutters to remove locks from storage units, the BCSO investigator wrote. <\/p>\n
A search warrant was later executed for Hungerford-Clay\u2019s storage unit on March 27, 2026. <\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s stolen items were found and recovered inside the Hungerford-Clay\u2019s storage unit, the affidavit states. <\/p>\n
According to the warrant, the victim\u2019s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) documents were also located and recovered from Hungerford-Clay\u2019s storage unit. <\/p>\n
Hungerford-Clay was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on a $20,000 bond, court records indicate. <\/p>\n
