The Texas Rangers are selling a nacho sombrero at baseball games in 2026. The Rangers’ concessions team has dreamt up bigger-in-Texas food for more than a decade, but this edible hat might be the strangest offering yet.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I would have told you that if the Texas Rangers continue selling more absurdly large foods at baseball games<\/a>, I\u2019d eat my hat.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n I ate a sombrero, actually.<\/p>\n The most ludicrous new food sold at Globe Life Field in 2026 is the 9th Inning Rally Sombrero, a fried tortilla in the shape of a 26-inch diameter edible hat. It\u2019s filled with nine-layer dip. Because seven-layer dip isn\u2019t big enough in Texas.<\/p>\n Now before you ask how many people can gorge on a savory, supersize sombrero, just chill, calorie counters. This mammoth meal is vegetarian. This one\u2019s a cutesy hat, not one that fits Corey Seager\u2019s noggin. (And if you\u2019re asking, it looks pretty tasty. It\u2019s hard to go wrong with Blue Bell ice cream and warm churros.)\u00a0<\/p>\n But I think we’re all scratching our heads right now. How did the Texas Rangers go from nachos, hot dogs and beers to this 2026 hat trick?<\/p>\n A belt-busting history: The creative team behind the Texas Rangers’ concessions started the huge food thing with a 24-inch-long chili cheese hot dog called the Boomstick over a decade ago. Then came the 2-foot-long brownie<\/a>, a 2-foot-long cheeseburger<\/a>, a chicken sandwich the size of a dinner plate<\/a> and a chicken tender that almost looked as long as a baseball bat<\/a>. Rangers Insider Evan Grant particularly hated that one.<\/p>\n When the Texas Rangers played in and won the World Series in 2023, the concessions team added a set of $250 sandwiches<\/a> to the concessions roster, the ultimate bigger-in-Texas move.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n Fast-forward to 2026, and maybe it seems like they\u2019ve tried it all. I would have loved to be in those brainstorming sessions. You know what hasn\u2019t been tried yet? somebody might\u2019ve said.
