It’s filled with nine-layer dip. Because seven-layer dip isn’t big enough in Texas.

Now before you ask how many people can gorge on a savory, supersize sombrero, just chill, calorie counters. This mammoth meal is vegetarian. It’s made with layers of tortilla, refried beans, cheddar cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, black olives, jalapeños, shredded lettuce and sour cream.

Make Dallas News a preferred source so your search results prioritize writing by actual people, not AI.

Add Preferred Source

If anything, they exercised restraint: A lesser concessions team might have added brisket.

Article continues below this ad

This veg-forward consumable cap costs $39.99.

Those looking for a meatier meal can opt for the chicken tender helmet: 12 chicken tenders and 2 pounds of fries, served in a human-size batting helmet.

I’m not sure whether to pull my hat over my eyes or tip my cap to the concessions crew.

Article continues below this ad

But wait, there’s more: a churro helmet sundae. This one’s a cutesy hat, not one that fits Corey Seager’s noggin. (And if you’re asking, it looks pretty tasty. It’s hard to go wrong with Blue Bell ice cream and warm churros.)

But I think we’re all scratching our heads right now. How did the Texas Rangers go from nachos, hot dogs and beers to this 2026 hat trick?

A belt-busting history: The creative team behind the Texas Rangers’ concessions started the huge food thing with a 24-inch-long chili cheese hot dog called the Boomstick over a decade ago. Then came the 2-foot-long brownie, a 2-foot-long cheeseburger, a chicken sandwich the size of a dinner plate and a chicken tender that almost looked as long as a baseball bat. Rangers Insider Evan Grant particularly hated that one.

When the Texas Rangers played in and won the World Series in 2023, the concessions team added a set of $250 sandwiches to the concessions roster, the ultimate bigger-in-Texas move.

Article continues below this ad

Fast-forward to 2026, and maybe it seems like they’ve tried it all.
