Artemis II propelled into space<\/a> following a successful launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Wednesday, April 1, with four astronauts now voyaging on a 10-day mission circumnavigating the Moon as part of the U.S.’ first crew moon mission since 1972. On the menu? None other than a Texas delicacy.<\/p>\n

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) detailed Artemis II’s crew menu<\/a> in a social media post on Tuesday, March 31, outlining an array of offerings fit for a Southern comfort meal. Among the nearly 200 menu items, standouts included tortillas (58, to be exact), macaroni and cheese, spicy green beans and, last but certainly not least, barbecued beef brisket.<\/p>\n

“Brisket and cobbler and quiche, oh my!” NASA wrote in the social media post.<\/p>\n

Never to forget some dessert, astronauts will also have an array of sweet treats to enjoy during the 10-day rendezvous, including cookies, chocolates, cake, candy-coated almonds, pudding and cobbler.<\/p>\n

Artemis II’s historic return toward the Moon is the first lunar trip in over 50 years, with the potential of traveling further away from Earth than any human previously has, per CNN reporting<\/a>.
