As talk about MVP awards and championships start to ramp up as the San Antonio Spurs get closer to their first playoff run since 2019, it seems nobody else more than Spurs fans have been asked about how they feel leading up to the “Race for Seis.” From free coffee<\/a> to honking down Commerce and Military<\/a>, the nostalgia is quickly overtaking the now because 22 years of greatness was missed in the 210.<\/p>\n Victor Wembanyama and company hold the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference, and it only reminds us of the five titles won by the greatest power forward ever, (don’t come for me) Tim Duncan. But as the nostalgia clouds the now, it looks like people can’t help but ask “could the now be better?”<\/p>\n During an appearance on The Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz\u00a0(minus Stugotz, that kinda thing) on Tuesday, March 31, one sports talk show host and famous Spurs fan Michelle Beadle had to face that topic head on. Host of the show and known pot stirrer Dan\u00a0LeBatard transitioned from talking about potential NBA MVP candidates to asking Beadle a tough question: “Over\/Under\u00a0Wemby to win more championships than Tim Duncan?”<\/p>\n “Oh, snap!” Beadle said immediately after LeBatard finished rambling. “That’s tough. I mean, we are currently in a ‘Race for Seis’ but that’s… getting that first one is going to be tough… You know what? I’m going to say under… That hurts.” LeBatard joked he finally broke her as a fan before Beadle reminded him that “Tim Duncan is special.” LeBatard took great pride in saying he finally got Beadle to say something that “doesn’t pass for over-the-moon positive about Wemby.”\u00a0<\/p>\n And after about 10-plus minutes of what non-Spurs fans would call “glazing Wemby” as the comments on YouTube would suggest, it’s pretty funny this was the direction the conversation went.
