Plano West<\/a> is 7-1 against McKinney<\/a> since March of 2018 and they’ll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the Lions at 7:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Plano West has six straight victories, McKinney has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you’re on the field.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, Plano West made easy work of Plano and carried off an 8-1 win. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.<\/p>\n Kendall Prowell<\/a> spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.<\/p>\n On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooke Reasoner<\/a>, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Abby Jennings<\/a> was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.<\/p>\n Plano West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they’ve now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive games.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when McKinney challenged Princeton on Tuesday. The Lions lost 12-2 to the Panthers.<\/p>\n McKinney saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly True<\/a>, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.<\/p>\n McKinney’s defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Plano West, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8-1.<\/p>\n McKinney’s pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Plano West has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. It’s a different story for McKinney, though, as they’ve only averaged .352. Will they be able to contain Plano West’s hitters?<\/p>\n Plano West got the ‘W’ when the teams last played back in March against McKinney by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won’t have the home-field advantage this time around.
