The car crashed into a pole and caught fire. Several others inside the vehicle were able to escape and attempted to rescue Orta, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.<\/p>\n<p>Orta\u2019s death comes months after he was identified as a key witness in a separate fatal shooting involving federal agents.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>According to Newsweek, Orta was the sole witness to the March 15, 2025 shooting death of Ruben Ray Martinez by a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agent in South Padre Island.
