Read on for April\u2019s essential San Antonio restaurant and bar news.<\/p>\n<p>Openings<br \/>Prince Blakaj, the owner of <a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonio.culturemap.com\/news\/restaurants-bars\/neighborhood-restaurants-tastemaker-awards-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tastemaker Award-nominated<\/a> restaurant Mare e Monte, has a new gig. He\u2019s now the proprietor of Morea Italian Steakhouse in the old home of Lew\u2019s Patio &amp; Grill at 101 Club Dr. in Floresville. Although the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moreasteakhouse.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">website<\/a> is a work in progress, it teases dishes like handmade pastas and cannoli to go with all the red meat.<\/p>\n<p>Pat O\u2019 Brien\u2019s former River Walk spot at 121 Alamo Plaza has gone country. Cory Neal, who ran the former spot, has opened The Rowdy Spur, a<a href=\"https:\/\/therowdyspur.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> new honky-tonk<\/a> featuring live music and games like pool and poker. Oh, and there\u2019s also a karaoke stage, should anyone want to belt out a few bars of \u201cFancy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over Under, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/overunder_satx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">new bar<\/a> from Blue Box vets Michael McKinney and Kristofer Torres, is days away from opening in the Fiesta at Cevallos building in Southtown. The space will accommodate all sorts of moods, blending the feel of a neighborhood sports bar with a more elegant date-night haunt.<\/p>\n<p>A former CrossFit gym at 2411 Broadway has a new flex. Overtime, from the team behind Backyard on Broadway, will open mid-April. As you might have guessed, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/overtimebarsa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">concept<\/a> will have a sporty interior with some of the original building\u2019s murals remaining intact. Although the two sibling bars will share the same kitchen, Overtime will have its own menu.<\/p>\n<p>New <a href=\"https:\/\/domsneworleans.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">food truck<\/a> Doms New Orleans is now serving spaghetti and gumbo at the Point Park at 24188 Boerne Stage Rd. The reason for the cross-cultural menu? Owner Dominic Munasteri is the product of a first-generation Italian-American father and a mother from Metairie, Louisiana. Check out the weekly bread pudding special in intriguing flavors like bacon red cherry.<\/p>\n<p>Other news and notes<br \/>Downtown\u2019s St. Anthony Hotel is firing off Whiskey &amp; War Stories on the St. Anthony Sky Terrace, a whiskey dinner pairing Horse Soldier Bourbon with a three-course menu by resident executive chefs Leo Davila and Jarrod Mainard. The event kicks off at 6:30 pm on April 9.
