{"id":233574,"date":"2026-04-03T14:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T14:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/233574\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T14:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T14:46:08","slug":"books-authors-and-more-coming-to-the-san-antonio-book-festival-on-april-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/233574\/","title":{"rendered":"Books, authors and more coming to the San Antonio Book Festival on April 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sign up for <a href=\"https:\/\/support.tpr.org\/a\/tpr-newsletter-signup?_gl=1*1qdmxfl*_ga*MjI5ODI0MTQ5LjE2NDUxMjA0MTM.*_ga_0B2CYK6231*czE3NjI1NTQ2ODUkbzM0NDMkZzEkdDE3NjI1NTQ2OTIkajUzJGwwJGgw\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">TPR Today<\/a>, Texas Public Radio&#8217;s newsletter that brings our top stories to your inbox each morning.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/sabookfestival.org\/\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">San Antonio Book Festival<\/a> happens on Saturday, April 11. <\/p>\n<p>Literary Director <a href=\"https:\/\/sabookfestival.org\/staff-board\/anna-dobben\/\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Anna Dobben<\/a> said that besides all the great authors coming, the book festival is a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Book Festival is a completely free literary extravaganza on the grounds of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysapl.org\/visit\/locations\/central-library\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Central Library<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utsa.edu\/about\/campuses\/\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">UT San Antonio southwest campus<\/a>,\u201d Dobben said. \u201cThere are over 110 authors joining us, and they&#8217;re going to present their new books, and readers can ask questions of the authors, and there&#8217;s also going to be a theater performance by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magiktheatre.org\/\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Magik Theatre<\/a>, food trucks, activities and more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It all takes place from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., in the shadow of one of the city\u2019s most interesting buildings \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tpr.org\/arts-culture\/2022-02-15\/how-many-stories-does-san-antonios-enchilada-red-public-library-have\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">downtown\u2019s central library<\/a>. And there\u2019s a new development this year. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cChildren picture book characters will be at the San Antonio book festival for the first year ever. She&#8217;s the author of A Guardian and a Thief.
