Now, the Texas agency says it\u2019s up and running again, but it\u2019s not quite at full function as a major renovation is underway.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t go lining up at the 24,000-square-foot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/community\/northwest\/news\/article\/DPS-mega-center-opens-in-Leon-Valley-4214945.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">DPS mega center<\/a> at 7410 Huebner Road. Officials may have broadcast that the site is \u201cback open,\u201d but that doesn\u2019t tell the whole story. With major repairs needed to replace water-soaked flooring and ceiling tiles, the agency is not operating at full scale and may not be for a while.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/news\/local\/article\/suzanne-simpson-missing-san-antonio-19862970.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">DPS<\/a>] Leon Valley Mega Cener Driver License Office has partially reopened and is temporarily serving a limited number customers by appointment as flooding damage repairs remain underway,\u201d a DPS spokesperson told MySA.<\/p>\n<p>The department leases the space from Finders Real Estate, the company which filed the $900,000 repairs with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Apparently, all the flooring, ceiling tiles, doors and fiberglass wall panels need to be replaced over the next month or so.<\/p>\n<p>While the agency will continue to operate the site through the construction process, it\u2019s very limited in the number of customers they can take on. Walk-ins were welcomed on Wednesday, April 1, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dps.texas.gov\/section\/driver-license\/driver-license-services-appointments\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">only appointments <\/a>will be allowed for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working closely with the property owner to return the office to full operational capacity,\u201d the spokesperson said. \u201cAt this time, there is no timeline for when all repairs this facility will be complete, and we will provide updates as soon as they become available.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So, if your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/news\/local\/article\/new-texas-driver-license-20824112.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">driver&#8217;s license<\/a> is up for renewal, definitely plan ahead.
