They never let the Zapata Hawks<\/a> get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory. The Wildcats’ pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn’t given up a run in their last four matchups.<\/p>\n Jordyn Thibodeaux<\/a> was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn’t allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn’t given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter’s box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That’s the most RBI she has posted since back in February.<\/p>\n In other batting news, Braelyn Bailey<\/a> and Audryna Almaraz<\/a> did most of the damage at the plate: Bailey fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5, while Almaraz fired off two home runs, five RBI, and one triple while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Almaraz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kristin Leal<\/a>, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.<\/p>\n Calallen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. That was just more of the same: they’ve now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in six consecutive contests.<\/p>\n Calallen’s record now sits at 20-8-2. As for Zapata, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-10-2.<\/p>\n Coming up, Calallen will challenge Robstown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats’ pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cottonpickers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Zapata, they will take on Tuloso-Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
