San Antonio will have to wait a little bit longer for Mexico\u00a0Ceaty to make its debut<\/a> at the Shops at Rivercenter after the ringleader of the project provided an update on the long-awaited culinary project.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Thursday, April 2,\u00a0Chef Jason\u00a0Dady posted an Instagram reel on his personal account addressing the progress of Mexico Ceaty. The chef, also behind concepts like\u00a0Tre Trattoria and Roca & Martillo at The Rock, said that the food court overhaul is nearing completion, but did not meet the projected April 1 timeline for opening.<\/p>\n

“We’re pushing as hard as we can. We were hoping for April 1, that didn’t happen. We’re hoping for April 6, that’s not gonna happen. But we’re really close,” Dady said in the video.<\/p>\n

MySA reached out to Dady to ask if there was anything else to add to what he said on Instagram, and he shared that staff is training and onboarding this week and\u00a0the new goal he’s shooting for is April 13 for Mexican Ceaty’s opening.<\/p>\n

“So close we can taste it. We actually received our temporary certificate of occupancy today,” Dady said via text.<\/p>\n

The San Antonio chef emphasized on social media\u00a0that Mexico Ceaty is still hiring for a few more positions at the multi-concept culinary hub.\u00a0Dady also shouted out Whataburger for fueling his late-night musings and for bringing back the Monterey Melt<\/a>, which he hopes will\u00a0stick around for good.\u00a0<\/p>\n

MySA has been following the progress of Mexico Ceaty closely, from when it was announced in 2024<\/a> to previewing the space in January 2026. The 25,000-square-foot undertaking is replacing Rivercenter’s traditional food court with something more akin to a food hall, with multiple food and drink concepts.<\/p>\n
