It\u2019s different here than it is in other states,\u201d Campbell said in a post on X on Friday. \u201cTexas Tech\u2019s alumni base is largely centered in the DFW area, which is 300+ miles from Lubbock. \u00a0A Friday game puts enormous strain on their ability to attend the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the week, Campbell criticized Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark, the conference and Fox Sports for possibly moving the Red Raiders&#8217; game against Houston to Friday, Sept. 18. In a post on X, he called the idea of\u00a0playing on a Friday \u201cabsurd.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c@brettyormark and I are friends and have a good relationship. We work well together on many fronts, and Texas Tech is very committed to the Big 12. Brett and I have had our disagreements, but I like the guy and respect his hustle,\u201d Campbell said. \u201cHowever, I do stand by a quote I made: the Commissioners work for the Presidents, and the Presidents work for the Boards. The commissioners have not been vested in unilateral authority to do whatever they want.
