“World: Photographs” features pictures taken by Houston-based pulmonologist and sleep medicine specialist Jay Murthy. His vibrant landscapes capture intimate scenes from across the planet, from Kenya to Iceland.<\/p>\n
“Local doctor and photographer Jay Murthy’s stunning photographs transport you to another country, continent, world,” Simpson said. “They’re breathtaking!”<\/p>\n

A piece from \u201cAllegiance to the People\u201d by Kandy Lopez on display at HMAAC.<\/p>\n
And finally, “Allegiance to the People” features woven portraits by Afro-Caribbean American multidisciplinary fiber artist Kandy Lopez. Her work depicts everyday people from around her community on a scale traditionally reserved for royalty.<\/p>\n
“We are so excited to host Kandy for her solo Texas debut,” Simpson said. “As long-time fans of her work, it is quite the honor. Her work has to be seen to be believed.”<\/p>\n
