Haley Gardella also contributed with an RBI single.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn the circle, Reed (9-6) earned the win in relief, allowing just one unearned run on three hits over four innings while striking out three. Chloe Hill started the game and allowed one run over three innings.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLubbock Christian finished with seven hits, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/riley-flores\/4711\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4711\" target=\"_blank\">Riley Flores<\/a>, who went 2-for-3 with a walk, while <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/kadin-vire\/4724\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4724\" target=\"_blank\">Kadin Vire<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/ashlinn-hamilton\/4712\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4712\" target=\"_blank\">Ashlinn Hamilton<\/a> each scored a run. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/alexis-pacheco\/5067\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5067\" target=\"_blank\">Alexis Pacheco<\/a> drove in both runs for the Lady Chaps. Freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/lexi-clark\/5069\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5069\" target=\"_blank\">Lexi Clark<\/a> (7-6) took the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits over five innings, while Hamilton worked the final two innings in relief.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHOW IT HAPPENED<br \/>\nCameron struck first in the second inning, taking advantage of defensive miscues. Kyley Cochran opened the frame with a single and later scored on a fielder&#8217;s choice play that included a pair of LCU errors, giving the Aggies a 1-0 lead.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Aggies extended their advantage in the fourth. Ross singled and moved into scoring position before McDaniel launched a two-run home run to left-center, pushing the lead to 3-0.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLCU responded in the bottom half of the inning. Vire led off with a bunt single and advanced into scoring position before Pacheco delivered a sacrifice fly to center, trimming the deficit to 3-1.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBoth teams were held in check through the fifth, as Clark worked around traffic and Reed settled in after entering in relief.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Lady Chaps pulled within one in the sixth inning. Hamilton reached on an error and later scored when Pacheco lined an RBI single through the right side, cutting the Cameron lead to 3-2.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nCameron added a key insurance run in the seventh. Chloe Broussard worked a walk and advanced into scoring position before Gardella delivered an RBI single to center, extending the lead to 4-2.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLCU threatened in the bottom of the seventh, as Flores drew a one-out walk, but Reed closed the door by retiring the final two batters to secure the victory.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGAME NOTES<br \/>\n\u00bb <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/riley-flores\/4711\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4711\" target=\"_blank\">Riley Flores<\/a> had LCU&#8217;s only multi-hit performance in the game, going 2-for-3 at the plate for her sixth multi-hit performance of the season and 31st\u00a0of her LCU career.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00bb LCU turned two double plays in the game. They have now turned 23 on the season.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00bb Cameron was 6-for-7 on getting the leadoff batter aboard.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGAME 2<br \/>\nCameron used a five-run burst over the first two innings and held off a late rally to defeat Lubbock Christian 6-4 in the second game. The Aggies improved to 21-20 overall and 13-15 in conference play, while LCU fell to 18-18 overall and 14-12 in the LSC.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nCameron was paced by Haley Gardella, who drove in three runs on a key extra-base hit, while Camryn Hunkins went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Kyndel McDaniel and Rylee Ross each added an RBI in the win.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn the circle, Mikah Vann (3-3) earned the victory, limiting LCU to one run on five hits over six innings with three strikeouts. Camryn Hunkins sparked the rally with a single, and after a walk and another base hit loaded the bases, Gardella cleared them with a three-RBI double to right-center. Ross followed with an RBI single to cap the four-run frame and extend the lead to 5-0.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nCameron added another run in the third, as Krisyana Pellett doubled and came around to score on an RBI single from Hunkins, pushing the advantage to 6-0.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLCU threatened multiple times against Vann but was unable to break through early, stranding runners in scoring position in both the first and third innings. The Lady Chaps finally broke through in the seventh after being held scoreless through six frames. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/julie-muniz\/5077\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5077\" target=\"_blank\">Julie Muniz<\/a> drew a leadoff walk and <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/lexi-clark\/5069\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5069\" target=\"_blank\">Lexi Clark<\/a> followed with a single to put two aboard. After a bunt moved both runners into scoring position, <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/madison-hunter\/5066\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5066\" target=\"_blank\">Madison Hunter<\/a> reached on a walk, and a defensive miscue allowed Muniz to score the first run.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHamilton then delivered the biggest hit of the inning, ripping a two-run double to left to cut the deficit to 6-3. Burris followed with an RBI-double to right, bringing LCU within 6-4 and putting the tying run at the plate. However, Reed induced a pop-up to end the game, stranding the potential tying run and sealing the win for Cameron.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGAME NOTES<br \/>\n\u00bb <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/cat-prisock\/4716\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4716\" target=\"_blank\">Cat Prisock<\/a> went 2-for-2 for her third multi-hit game of the season.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00bb <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/riley-flores\/4711\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4711\" target=\"_blank\">Riley Flores<\/a> had a hit in the second game and went 3-for-5 at the plate in the combined two games and also walked three times.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00bb LCU hit a low of 3-for-17 (.176) with runners in scoring position in the combined two games.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00bb In the second game, LCU grounded out once, while hitting into 16 fly-outs. In the combined two games, LCU flew-out 26 times and grounded out just four times. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00bb <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/ashlinn-hamilton\/4712\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4712\" target=\"_blank\">Ashlinn Hamilton<\/a> had a hit in each game to remain LCU&#8217;s active leader with a six-game hit streak. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/riley-flores\/4711\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4711\" target=\"_blank\">Riley Flores<\/a> extended her streak of consecutive games reaching base safely to 15 games, which is the highest mark by a Lady Chaps member this season.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00bb Sthe pair of Cameron wins has LCU with a 6-6 record at home this season.<\/p>\n<p>HISTORY LESSON<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nCameron had lost five straight meetings against LCU until the two wins Friday over LCU, who remains leading the all-time series with a 13-8 record (5-4 at home). The pair of wins marked the first time Cameron had ever swept LCU in a doubleheader set in Lubbock. The two teams split the four-game regular season series (2-2).\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nWHAT&#8217;S NEXT<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nLCU heads to Richardson, Texas Friday to face UT Dallas for the first-ever meeting against the LSC&#8217;s newest members.
