Before hitting the stage at the Frost Bank Center on April 3, Peso Pluma, born Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, made a pit stop in Schertz. The music star visited Samuel Clemens High School, where he once walked the hallways as a freshman.<\/p>\n

The stop quickly went viral, with fans posting videos of the star arriving on campus and speaking with students. One attendee, @Fabulousfabby714, told MySA that although there was no school Friday for Good Friday, select students received invitations after the artist reached out to the district to arrange a private meet-and-greet with arts students.<\/p>\n

Teachers kept the identity a secret, telling students only that a former student, now a big-name performer, would be visiting the music program. Some pieced it together quickly. \u201cHe went to school with my brother, so we knew right away who it was,\u201d @Fabulousfabby714 said.<\/p>\n

The school said the visit was an “unforgettable experience filled with motivation and creativity” and thanked the former Buff for his return.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Peso Pluma has quickly become one of the biggest names in regional Mexican music, with his hit \u201cElla Baila Sola\u201d topping charts worldwide. His breakout success earned him Billboard\u2019s 2023 Rookie of the Year<\/a>, cementing his crossover appeal beyond the genre.<\/p>\n
