AUSTIN (KXAN) \u2014 No. 2 Texas bounced back to claim another Southeastern Conference series on the road, beating South Carolina 2-1 in a 3-game set at Founders Park in Columbia, South Carolina.<\/p>\n

Texas claimed the finale 4-1 on Saturday and won 5-3 on Friday. The Gamecocks opened the series Thursday with a 9-1 win.<\/p>\n

An outstanding pitching performance by the Longhorns highlighted Saturday\u2019s win. Starter Dylan Volantis needed just 70 pitches to get through 5.2 innings, striking out six with one walk. He allowed one earned run on two hits.<\/p>\n

The trio of Thomas Burns, Haiden Leffew and Sam Cozart mowed through the Gamecocks\u2019 lineup, not allowing a hit in 3.1 innings. Burns struck out four of the five batters he faced, Leffew struck out two and Cozart struck out the side in the ninth to earn his fourth save of the season.<\/p>\n

Carson Tinney hit his third home run of the series with a solo shot in the ninth. Anthony Pack Jr. hit a 2-run double in the first to kickstart the offense, and Aiden Robbins played Tinney with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Tinney smashed a pair of homers in the first and ninth innings. Ethan Mendoza also homered and drove in a run with a single. Tinney, Mendoza and Anthony Pack Jr. all had three hits. Temo Becerra had two hits.<\/p>\n

Luke Harrison struck out five and walked two in 5.2 innings on the hill, allowing two runs on one hit. Cozart earned the save, getting the last four outs of the game via strikeout.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s game was one to forget for Texas. Ruger Riojas got roughed up, allowing six earned runs on eight hits across three innings, and the offense came in the form of a titanic solo home run by Robbins in the third inning. His 11th home run of the season traveled 422 feet with an exit velocity of 104 mph.<\/p>\n

Texas (26-5, 9-3 SEC) hosts Incarnate Word at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, and then heads to College Station for a Lone Star Showdown series with Texas A&M starting Friday.<\/p>\n
