It\u2019s different for me. I have the same feeling I had watching the Spurs all those years ago. It\u2019s in the air. Everyone feels it.<\/p>\n
My 24-year-old son gets it.\u00a0He\u2019s old enough to remember.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s part of who we are and what we love about San Antonio. I also know the feeling can be fleeting, so I\u2019m soaking it all in. We\u2019re cheering for someone, something again.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t want to miss one second of it.<\/p>\n
I agree with Shaimaa Zayan that education should encourage critical thinking and curiosity.<\/p>\n
It seems, though, that our politicians are trying to mold the system into one where students only hear the side of social issues of those in power.<\/p>\n
In public education, there has always been a tension between forming compliant citizens and forming competent thinkers.<\/p>\n
The latter will be better able to make sense of questions without simple answers, while the former are easily manipulated and led by fearmongering and disinformation, easy prey for would-be demagogues.<\/p>\n
More than 9,500 civilians provide essential services in business and technical fields for the Coast Guard.<\/p>\n
