The first F-15 models were produced in April 1988 and have since evolved into the F-15E Strike Eagle, which features a two-seat cockpit that accommodates both a pilot and a weapon systems officer.<\/p>\n<p>The F-15E Strike Eagle has a wingspan of 42.8 feet and weighs 37,500 pounds. The Strike Eagle can reach speeds of up to 1,875 mph. In terms of missile capacity, the F-15E can carry up to four AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles and four AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles, or a total of eight AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. forces rescued one of the crew members of the downed American fighter jet in Iran on Friday. Early Sunday morning, President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/article\/missing-us-service-member-rescued-from-iran\/70936094\" data-link=\"native\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announced the second crew member had been located<\/a> and extracted from Iran in what he called &#8220;one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History.&#8221; Trump later said the military member had been seriously wounded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Air Force F-15E is a dual-role fighter-bomber designed for air-to-air combat and air-to-ground strikes.
