EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/ CBS4)- Strong winds swept across the Borderland on Easter, disrupting some outdoor holiday plans in El Paso while adding an unexpected boost to kite-flying and other festivities.<\/p>\n
In Northeast El Paso, gusty conditions created challenges for families trying to set up canopies and find parking, but many still chose to spend the day outside.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike, you can see my canopy already broke \u2019cause of the wind,\u201d one person said.<\/p>\n
Across El Paso, the wind sent canopies flying and made it harder for some families to settle in. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe actually come earlier every year, but we\u2019re kind of waiting for the wind to come down a bit,\u201d the same person said. <\/p>\n
They also described parking as difficult, saying \u201cit\u2019s a hassle to find a parking,\u201d and adding, \u201cAnd sometimes we gotta park over there on the side.\u201d<\/p>\n
Others said the wind was noticeable but manageable. \u201cA little bit\u2019s affecting, but you know, every Easter it always happens this way,\u201d one man said.<\/p>\n
He later added, \u201cThere\u2019s a bit of winds, but you know what We\u2019re managing with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
For some families, the gusts became part of the fun, especially for kite flyers. \u201cYeah, it\u2019s perfect for playing the kites today,\u201d one person said. Another noted, \u201cThis year was a little bit more windy than last year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the blustery conditions, families said the focus remained on spending time together. \u201cWe\u2019re having a really good time here with the kids,\u201d one woman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know some families decide to stay in, but we decided to come out and enjoy the weather, you know, and it\u2019s always good,\u201d the man said.<\/p>\n
Despite the windy conditions, the family shared that the holiday was well spent. <\/p>\n
