EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Gas prices are climbing across El Paso, with many drivers now paying around $4.19 per gallon for regular fuel at stations across the city.<\/p>\n
KFOX14\/CBS4 visited multiple gas stations in west and central El Paso and found similar prices, making it difficult for drivers to find cheaper options.<\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, oh, hell no. I really don’t want to pay these kind of gas prices,\u201d said one El Paso driver. \u201cI drove past three gas stations. All of them have the same price. I have no choice but to get gas now.\u201d<\/p>\n
At one station in central El Paso, regular gasoline was listed at $4.19 per gallon.<\/p>\n
According to AAA<\/a>, the average price for regular gas in El Paso is around $3.99 per gallon, compared to about $3.81 statewide and roughly $4.09 nationally.<\/p>\n That means drivers in El Paso are paying more than the Texas average, but still slightly below the national average.<\/p>\n For some residents, the higher prices are forcing changes in daily spending.<\/p>\n Emilio, a college student at the University of Texas at El Paso, said he has started cutting back on other expenses, specifically at the grocery store, to afford gas.<\/p>\n \u201cI just get the minimum, like vegetables and meat, but not anymore, like ice cream or goodies.\u201d<\/p>\n Other drivers say they are adjusting how often they get behind the wheel.<\/p>\n \u201cI just try to cut back on my trips reduce the amount of places I go across the city,\u201d another driver said.<\/p>\n Despite the rising costs, some say they have little choice but to keep filling up.<\/p>\n \u201cI got no choice. I’m coming home from work.
