A Texas TV meteorologist gave viewers a shocking life update, sharing news of a kidney cancer diagnosis.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Diamond Dickson, who came to Corpus Christi NBC affiliate KRIS 6 in 2024, said in an\u00a0Instagram post on April 3<\/a> that “the past few months have been the hardest of my life.” Back in December 2025<\/a>,\u00a0Dickson opened up about her health, saying she was in the hospital\u00a0for nearly a week with kidney concerns and “intense flank pain.”<\/p>\n In the December post, she said, “What I thought was a severe kidney infection turned out not to be. Doctors here are calling me a rare\/unicorn case because I\u2019m healthy, eat well, and work out, but I still have rare symptoms. I was barely walking on my own from how intense the pain was.”<\/p>\n It took multiple biopsies, MRIs, CT and PET scans to finally be diagnosed with “a very rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer,” according to Dickson. She wrote on social media that it “feels surreal to say I have one of the deadliest kidney cancers” and noted that she’s already undergoing chemotherapy to target a tumor in her left kidney, with kidney removal surgery coming next. While the treatment has “tested my body in unimaginable ways,”\u00a0Dickson said “I have no choice but to fight.”<\/p>\n “I have to beat it,” she wrote. “Most days I\u2019m completely depleted of energy, but my faith keeps me going. I have a fighter spirit, and I refuse to let this cancer take me out. I\u2019m not done living in my purpose; therefore, in Jesus name, I\u2019m already healed.”<\/p>\n Throughout the post, Dickson emphasized how she’s leaning on her faith during her treatment \u2014 a part of her life she’s been open about since sharing photos of her baptism in 2023<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n “While there is a low survival rate and technically no cure, I know God is right here with me, and it’s part of my assignment in this season, and maybe for life,” she said. “This is a tough journey, an ugly one too, but I know God wouldn\u2019t have me fighting this beast if he wasn\u2019t going to do it with me. In Psalms 3:3, it says ‘But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.’ It is because of Him that I am made strong in my weakness.”\u00a0<\/p>\n MySA reached out to Dickson for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publication.\u00a0<\/p>\n
