Of course, it\u2019s really a series of parties, parades and special events. A few, like <a href=\"https:\/\/fiestacornyation.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cornyation<\/a> (April 21-23, Charline McCombs Empire Theatre), are intended for grown-ups, but the majority are family-friendly.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s when several of Fiesta\u2019s signature events will be happening this year:<\/p>\n<p>Fiesta Oyster Bake: Switchfoot and Candlebox are the headlining acts at this first-weekend blowout, a celebration of mollusks and live music. April 17-18, St. Mary\u2019s University, <a href=\"https:\/\/oysterbake.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">oysterbake.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Texas Cavaliers River Parade: The theme of this year\u2019s river parade, the first of Fiesta\u2019s big three, is \u201cThrough the Decades: A Centennial Celebration.\u201d The grand marshal is Leon McNeil, founder of City Kids Adventures. April 20, San Antonio River Walk, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texascavaliers.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">texascavaliers.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-62427\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/sa042524BOF2024-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1706\" height=\"2560\"  \/>Fiesta queens will respond to \u201cShow us your shoes!\u201d | Photo by Sam Owens<\/p>\n<p>A Night in Old San Antonio: Wristbands are gone, but the lines still will be long for Maria\u2019s tortillas and anticuchos at the city\u2019s favorite street party, which raises money for historic conservation. April 21-24, La Villita, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niosa.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">niosa.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Battle of Flowers Parade: The founding event of Fiesta San Antonio remains its biggest showcase for marching bands and Fiesta royalty in their elaborate gowns. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cFrom Pages to Possibility.\u201d 10:30 a.m. April 24, downtown, <a href=\"https:\/\/battleofflowers.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">battleofflowers.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fiesta Flambeau Parade: Shamu, SeaWorld\u2019s killer whale mascot, is the grand marshal of Fiesta\u2019s nighttime illuminated parade.
