Christopher Thomas allegedly told investigators his girlfriend was shot and killed by a robber. Now, he’s charged with her murder.<\/p>\n

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas \u2014 A man is facing a murder charge after investigators said he shot and killed his girlfriend<\/a> and lied about how she died.<\/p>\n

Christopher Glenn Thomas, 49, is accused of killing Myrtle Spells, 26.<\/p>\n

The deadly shooting happened around 4 a.m. on Sunday, March 15.<\/p>\n

Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators said they responded to a home on Kennings Road in Crosby after they got an “in-progress life in danger” 911 call.<\/p>\n

When they got there, deputies found Spells’ body. She had apparently been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Thomas, who reportedly has visible injuries to his face, told deputies he was the one who called 911 because someone had robbed him and shot his girlfriend. Investigators said Thomas wasn’t able to describe the suspect. He was released at the scene after he was treated for his injuries.<\/p>\n

Detectives followed up on the investigation and determined Thomas was responsible for the shooting. He was arrested and charged with murder. He’s currently in the Harris County Jail.<\/p>\n
