EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A 30-year-old woman died after she was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 10 East on Sunday night, according to the El Paso Police Department.<\/p>\n

Police said the Special Traffic Investigation Unit responded to a collision involving a pedestrian at the I-10 East downtown exit on Sunday at 7:57 p.m.<\/p>\n

According to EPPD, a preliminary investigation found the woman was traveling from north to south on I-10 when the 81-year-old driver of a Kia Soul traveling on the interstate struck her.<\/p>\n

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.<\/p>\n

Police said a contributing factor in the crash was the pedestrian being on the highway.<\/p>\n

The death marks El Paso\u2019s 14th traffic fatality of 2026. <\/p>\n

EPPD said the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. <\/p>\n
