Several elections with uncontested races were canceled. Here\u2019s a look at what\u2019s on the ballot around the county.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/Government\/Elections-Voting\/Election-Information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arlington City Council and street maintenance sales tax special election<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mayor: Jim Ross is seeking reelection and is opposed by Hunter Crow, Shaun Mallory and Steve Cavender.<br \/>\nDistrict 3: Nikkie Hunter is seeking reelection and being challenged by Kelly R. Burke.<br \/>District 4: Tom Ware, Rojo Meixueiro and Lisa J. Ventura are seeking the open seat.<br \/>\nDistrict 5: Rebecca Boxall is seeking reelection and is opposed by Brittney Garcia-Dumas.<br \/>\nDistrict 8: Jason Shelton, Melody Fowler and Corey Harris are seeking the open seat.<br \/>\nProposition: Voters are being asked whether to reauthorize a municipal sales and use tax for street maintenance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aisd.net\/district\/board\/election-information\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arlington ISD board of trustees<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aisd.net\/bond-2026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bond election<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Place 6: Brooklyn Richardson is seeking reelection and opposed by Jan Tyler.<br \/>\nPlace 7: Leanne Haynes is seeking reelection and opposed by Linton Davis.<br \/>\nBond Proposition A: $438.75M for replacement of South Davis Elementary School and an additional elementary campus; modernization and renovations to campuses; facility for districtwide 18 PLUSS special education program; safety and security upgrades; 45 new buses; capital improvements; academic equipment and program improvements, including fine arts and special education; ADA compliance and life safety improvements; and cybersecurity modernization.<br \/>\nBond Proposition B: $30.9M for replacement of instructional student technology devices; replacement of infrastructure technology devices; and replacement of staff technology devices.<br \/>\nBond Proposition C: $31.6M to install synthetic turf at six high school baseball\/softball fields; replace and upgrade athletic equipment; and add athletic storage facilities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofazle.org\/559\/MAY-2-2026-GENERAL-AND-SPECIAL-ELECTION\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Azle City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Derrick Nelson, Place 1; Amy Estes, Place 2; and Rouel Rothenberger, Place 5, are running unopposed for reelection.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bedfordtx.gov\/265\/Election-Information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bedford City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Shelly Lemman, a business owner, and Bill Thurlow, a sales associate, are seeking the open Place 4 seat. Rob Gagliardi is seeking reelection to Place 6 and is unopposed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birdvilleschools.net\/our-district\/board-of-trustees\/election-information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Birdville ISD board of trustees<\/a> and bond package<\/p>\n<p>Place 1 incumbent Joe Tolbert, a lawyer, is running against challenger Stephanie Davenport, who lists human resources as her occupation.<br \/>\nPlace 2 incumbent Kelvin Dilks is running against Ana Maria Aguilar DeYoung, who lists director as her occupation.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/resources.finalsite.net\/images\/v1774377504\/birdvilleschoolsnet\/zxzlpg995j2oqixanyfl\/BirdvilleISDMayBondElection--ballotEnglishSpanishVietnamese.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bond Proposition A<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/birdvillebonds.birdvilleschools.net\/bond26\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">: <\/a>District officials want $453.3M to rebuild, expand or renovate some schools; upgrade security measures; replace aging buses; build a new support center for transportation and maintenance; and more.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/birdvillebonds.birdvilleschools.net\/bond26\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bond Proposition B<\/a>: Birdville school officials want voters to approve $22M for devices and technology upgrades.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.castleberryisd.net\/board\/elections\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Castleberry ISD board of trustees<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Board chair Dewey Taliaferro, Place 1, is seeking reelection and unopposed. In Place 2, Tracy Gallman is seeking reelection and challenged by Sydney Claridge, who lists inventor as her occupation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ci.crowley.tx.us\/secretary\/page\/candidate-filings-general-election\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crowley City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Carl Weber is seeking the open Place 5 seat, and Scott Gilbreath, Place 6, is seeking reelection, both unopposed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crowleyisdtx.org\/our-district\/school-board\/trustee-election\/candidate-filings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crowley ISD board of trustees<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nedra Robinson, Place 1, and La Tonya Woodson-Mayfield, Place 2, are seeking reelection and unopposed. Three candidates are running for the unexpired term of Place 3: Michael Laszek, Jacqueline Upshaw and Daryl R. Davis II.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eulesstx.gov\/city-hall\/city-secretary-s-office\/candidate-information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Euless City Council<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eulesstx.gov\/home\/showpublisheddocument\/3802\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">City Charter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tim Stinneford is running for mayor; Jeremy Tompkins, the Place 2 City Council seat, and Perry Bynum, the Place 4 council seat, all are unopposed. Zariyan Stark is seeking an unexpired term of the Place 1 seat and is unopposed.<br \/>\nThe city also is holding a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eulesstx.gov\/home\/showpublisheddocument\/3844\/639086640910170000\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">charter election<\/a>, which asks voters to consider 20 propositions that would change Euless\u2019 governing document on areas including elections, council and mayoral positions, nepotism rules and more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foresthilltx.org\/265\/Candidate-Filings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forest Hill City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Carlie Jones, Place 1, is seeking reelection. She is being challenged by Beckie Duncan Hayes, a retiree, and Quincy Wallace, a barber.\u00a0<br \/>\nIn Place 2, Anthony Cook is seeking reelection and is being challenged by Melvin Lee, a retirement home supervisor.\u00a0<br \/>\nIn Place 3, Timey Boardingham is seeking reelection and is being challenged by Albert Harris Jr., a retiree.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fortworthtexas.gov\/departments\/citysecretary\/elections\/election-history\/election-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fort Worth City Council and bond propositions<\/a><\/p>\n<p>District 10 special election: Chris Jamieson, a businessman; and Alicia Ortiz, a former council district director, are seeking the open seat.<br \/>\nBond Proposition A: Streets and mobility infrastructure improvements $511.5M.<br \/>\nBond Proposition B: Park, recreation and open space acquisitions and improvements $185.14M.<br \/>\nBond Proposition C: Public library improvements $14.6M<br \/>\nBond Proposition D: affordable housing $10M.<br \/>\nBond Proposition E: Police, fire and emergency communications facilities $63.9M.<br \/>\nBond Proposition F: Animal care and shelter improvements $59.9M.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gptx.org\/Departments\/City-Secretary\/Elections\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grand Prairie City Council<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gptx.org\/Government\/Bond-Election-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bond package<\/a><\/p>\n<p>District 1 council member Jorja Clemson is seeking reelection, unopposed.\u00a0<br \/>\nDistrict 3 has two challengers: Amber Timberlake and David Chappelle. Incumbent council member Mike Del Bosque was seeking reelection, but died in mid-March.<br \/>\nPlace 7 at-large council member Bessye Adams is seeking reelection and is being challenged by Marketta Nimo.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gptx.org\/Government\/Bond-Election-2026\/Bond-Election-Prop-A\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition A<\/a>: City officials are asking for $209.5M to pay for nonresidential street improvements they said aim to make daily travel safer by reducing congestion, improving traffic flow and allowing for consistent emergency response. The streets selected for upgrades were identified through a citywide assessment that prioritized condition and use.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gptx.org\/Government\/Bond-Election-2026\/Bond-Election-Prop-B\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition B<\/a>: This measure asks to spend $78.5M on public safety needs that include replacing a radio tower; a traffic safety communication network; and a new public safety multipurpose resource center in the southern part of the city.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gptx.org\/Government\/Bond-Election-2026\/Bond-Election-Prop-C\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition C<\/a>: This proposition would provide $39M for park and recreational facilities, including a multipurpose center, pickleball complex, public artwork and a botanical garden.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpisd.org\/school-board-candidate-and-election-information4\/election-candidates\" id=\"https:\/\/www.gpisd.org\/school-board-candidate-and-election-information4\/election-candidates\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grand Prairie ISD board of trustees<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tarrance Jones, a retired federal law enforcement employee, is seeking the open District 2 seat, unopposed.\u00a0<br \/>\nGloria Carrillo is seeking reelection to Place 3 at large, and has drawn three challengers: Wendell Davidson, who lists himself as an investigator; Patty Harris, a business owner; and Robert E. Williams Jr., who lists himself as working in customer relations.\u00a0<br \/>\nIn the District 4 race, Phil Jimerson, a retired educator, and Mike Riley, an auditor, have filed to run for the open seat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grapevinetexas.gov\/1623\/May-2-Election-Candidate-Listing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grapevine City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Christopher \u201cChris\u201d Coy, Place 5, and Duff O\u2019Dell, Place 6, are seeking reelection and unopposed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gcisd.net\/o\/gcisd\/page\/board-election-may-2025-copy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grapevine-Colleyville ISD board of trustees<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Three trustees are seeking reelection, and all have drawn opponents.<\/p>\n<p>In Place 5, trustee A.J. Pontillo is being challenged by Matthew White, a lawyer.<br \/>\nIn Place 6, trustee Dianna Sager is being challenged by Lindsey Sheguit, a lawyer.<br \/>\nIn Place 7, trustee Mary Humphrey is being challenged by Darrell Brown, a retired principal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.haslet.org\/662\/May-2-2026---General-Election\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Haslet City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In Place 1, Douglas Horak is seeking reelection and being challenged by Howard Charles \u201cChuck\u201d Fiedler, a retiree.\u00a0<br \/>\nIn Place 3, James Watkins, a construction director, is seeking reelection and being challenged by Jasmin Wise, a project manager. In Place 5, Tanya Morrow, a teacher and coach, is seeking reelection and being challenged by Joel Bullard, who works in construction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hursttx.gov\/home\/showpublisheddocument\/14458\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hurst City Charter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The city of Hurst is holding a special election to consider eight charter amendments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofkeller.com\/about-us\/city-secretary\/election-information\/may-2-2026-general-election\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Keller City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Three candidates have filed to seek the mayor\u2019s seat being vacated by Armin Mizani, who is running for the Texas House District 98: council member Ross McMullin; Tag Green, a real estate broker; and Ed Prem, a retiree.<br \/>\nPlace 5 council member Chris Whatley is seeking reelection and has two challengers: Ned Brown, a business owner; and Ashley Stone Hernandez, an entrepreneur and community leader.<br \/>\nTwo candidates are seeking the Place 6 seat being vacated by McMullin: Charles Randklev, a scientist and <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/12\/10\/keller-isd-trustee-resigns-to-seek-city-council-seat-in-may-election\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">former school trustee<\/a>; and Zane Kupper, a media producer.<br \/>\nKeller is holding a special election to fill the vacant Place 4 seat. Candidates are Elda Rata, a lawyer; Russ Medeiros, self-employed; and Jarrett \u201cDoc\u201d Armstrong, a chiropractor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofkennedale.com\/108\/Elections-Elecciones\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kennedale City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mayor: Brian Perry Johnson, a professor; and Thelma Lea Kobeck, a retired educator are seeking the open seat.<br \/>\nPlace 2: James Connor III, an administrator; and Persons Griffith IV, a business owner, are seeking the open seat.<br \/>\nPlace 4: Melissa Barrow, a researcher; and Ryon Rea, a CEO, are seeking the open seat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kennedaleisd.net\/about-us\/school-board\/elections\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kennedale ISD board of trustees<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Darryl Owens is seeking reelection to Place 6 and is unopposed. Else reported working as an animal technician on his application for mayor.<br \/>\nIn Place 2, Brianne Goetz is seeking reelection and challenged by Sean Samuel Leonard, a finance compliance manager.\u00a0<br \/>\nIn Place 4, Matt Blake is seeking reelection and challenged by John Schleeter, an IT consultant.<br \/>\nIn Place 6, Russ Mitchell is seeking reelection and challenged by William Darden, an app developer, and Laura Jenkins, a small-business owner.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.townofpantego.com\/election\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pantego Town Council and sales and use tax proposition<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Victoria Roemmich is seeking reelection to Place 1 and is unopposed. Tyler Loe is seeking reelection to Place 2 and is being challenged by Bradley Niles. Mike Duncan is seeking reelection to Place 3 and is unopposed.<br \/>\nProposition: Reauthorize a local sales and use tax at the rate of .25% for maintenance and repair of municipal streets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cityofpelicanbay.com\/election-information-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pelican Bay City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mayor Tamra Olague is seeking reelection and challenged by Adam Gashi.<br \/>\nPlace 2 council member Sara Gashi is seeking reelection and challenged by David Sloane, a write-in candidate.<br \/>\nPlace 1 council member David Dryden is seeking reelection, unopposed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.richlandhills.com\/167\/Election-Information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Richland Hills City Council and proposition<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.richlandhills.com\/167\/Election-Information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Place 3<\/a>, Allison Barger, who listed herself as in procurement, and Doug Knowlton, a retiree, are seeking the open seat.<br \/>\nIn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.richlandhills.com\/167\/Election-Information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Place 5<\/a>, G.W. Estep is seeking reelection and is challenged by Athena Campbell, a retiree.<br \/>\nIn a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.richlandhills.com\/167\/Election-Information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">special election, also on May 2<\/a>, voters will be presented this proposition: \u201cThe reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the City of Richland Hills, Texas at the rate of three eighths of one percent (3\/8 of 1%) to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets. The tax expires on the fourth (4th) anniversary of the date of this election unless the imposition of the tax is reauthorized.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ci.saginaw.tx.us\/government\/may_2,_2026_election.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Saginaw City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Brack St. Clair is seeking reelection to Place 4 and is being challenged by Brian Thompson, a retiree.<br \/>\nMary Copeland is seeking reelection to Place 6 and challenged by Benjamin Guttery, who lists his occupation as self-employed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sansompark.org\/2190\/Candidate-Filings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sansom Park City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mayor Jim Barnett Jr., Place 1 council member Donna Bell and Place 2 council member Jerry Sewall are seeking reelection, unopposed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofsouthlake.com\/2791\/Candidate-Campaign-Finance-Report-Filing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Southlake City Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gary Fawks, a theme parks executive, is seeking the open Place 1 seat, and Eric Wang, a consultant, is seeking the open Place 6 seat, and both are unopposed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westlake-tx.org\/905\/Candidate-Filings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Westlake Town Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mayor Kim D. Greaves and council members Michael Yackira, Place 2, and Tammy Reeves, Place 4, are seeking reelection.<br \/>\nGreaves is challenged by David Quint, who lists his occupation as corporate finance.<br \/>\nYackira is challenged by Dahlia Hassani, an emergency medicine physician. Reeves is unopposed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westoverhills.us\/mayor-town-council\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Westover Hills Town Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mayor Kelly R. Thompson and council members Philip Williamson, Marcus Snyder, Eliot Goldman, John Thompson III and Stephen L.
