Licata will serve as the acting superintendent, replacing former superintendent Karen Molinar.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"861\" data-end=\"1081\">Licata outlined five priorities aimed at turning around the district, including improving academic achievement, supporting teachers, increasing pay, preparing students for college and careers, and reallocating resources.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1196\">\u201cThat expectation when that kid walks in the classroom is as high as for every kid in the district,\u201d Licata said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1198\" data-end=\"1380\">Licata\u2019s annual salary will total $360,000, along with a one-time $25,000 relocation payment as he moves from Broward County, Florida, to Texas, <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/02\/new-fwisd-superintendent-earns-1384-daily-heres-what-else-is-included-in-his-contract\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according<\/a> to the Fort Worth Report.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1382\" data-end=\"1488\">The salary raises broader questions about how Fort Worth ISD compares to other districts across the state.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"920\" data-end=\"1192\"><a href=\"https:\/\/rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov\/cgi\/sas\/broker\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">According<\/a> to the Texas Education Agency\u2019s superintendent salary database, Fort Worth ISD ranks 22nd statewide in reported superintendent pay. Other districts pay significantly more, including Harlandale ISD at $655,737 and Tarrant County-based Birdville ISD at $551,576.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1197\" data-end=\"1368\">In nearby districts, Dallas ISD\u2019s superintendent earns $378,750, while Crowley ISD\u2019s superintendent earns $453,194 and Highland Park ISD\u2019s superintendent earns $374,500.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1373\" data-end=\"1506\">For comparison, Gov.
