{"id":238932,"date":"2026-04-07T16:06:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T16:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/238932\/"},"modified":"2026-04-07T16:06:32","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T16:06:32","slug":"lpd-releases-new-details-on-overnight-fatal-crash-involving-a-pedestrian-in-central-lubbock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/238932\/","title":{"rendered":"LPD releases new details on overnight fatal crash involving a pedestrian in central Lubbock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; A pedestrian has died after a crash involving a semi-truck in central Lubbock early Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Just after 3:15 a.m., officers were called to a collision involving a semi-truck and a pedestrian in the area of 50th Street and I-27. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">When officers arrived, they found 67-year-old William Goodwin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">LPD says Goodwin died at the scene. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Through the initial course of the investigation, it appears, Goodwin was standing in the roadway when he was hit by a semi-truck as it was traveling in the northbound lanes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">There is no indication at this time the driver was at fault. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The scene has been cleared and the Interstate is back open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KCBD.
