For the past three years, he’s operated the Moon Wolf coffee trailer.

“I always wanted to have a little café; 20 years ago, I was drawing this concept in a sketchbook,” Conry says.

Moon Wolf takes over a former rental car office that sat vacant for years. Conry has brought it back to life with a look and feel inspired by his love of the desert. The warm, earth-toned space features layered textiles, art, and even a deer head wall mount, creating an authentic Western desert vibe.

Much of the shop’s interior is crafted or upcycled by Conry himself, from couches sourced from friends to hand-built benches. An antique worktable dating to the 1800s will serve as a display for merchandise sold in the store.

“I want the space to be vibrant. Everywhere you look, there’s going to be art,” Conry says. “Coffee shops tend to look the same and we want to stand out. You don’t have to be the same to be good.”

Conry will continue to offer the coffee menu he served at the mobile trailer, using beans from local roasters Eiland Coffee Roasters and Liaise Coffees. Drinks include classics such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, cortado, Americano, and drip coffee. They will also serve cold brew, chai, matcha, and an organic turmeric gold latte.

The drinks will be crafted with housemade syrups such as vanilla, mocha, spicy mocha with cayenne, and caramel, along with a rotating selection of seasonal specials.

For food, they’ve partnered with acclaimed Starship Bagel to offer select bagels and spreads, plus a brisket option topped with cheddar, jalapeños, and BBQ sauce. Moon Wolf will also bake their own coffee cake and banana bread, with tiramisu featured on Tuesdays, Conry says.

The “Provisions” part of the name refers to the coffee shop’s market, which will sell artisanal mugs, t-shirts, bags, oils, and incenses.

Conry says he plans to host a quarterly event called the “Hair of the Wolf Symposium,” bringing musicians, photographers, barbers, a vintage flea market, and even a magician, to the shop’s outdoor space and parking lot.

Conry is aiming for a mid-April debut. Once open, Moon Wolf Coffee & Provisions will operate 7 am-3 pm Tuesday-Saturday an 8 am-2 pm Sunday. They plan to host a yoga pop-up studio on Mondays, when the coffee shop is closed, Conry says.

A new coffee shop is expanding from wheels to walls in Richardson.
