Progressive rockers The Mars Volta, who formed in El Paso more than 20 years ago, will be touring this September and will include a stop in El Paso.<\/p>\n

The band, following a busy 2025 touring with\u00a0Deftones, will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Abraham Chavez Theatre.<\/p>\n

“Omar and Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird” charts the rise, breakup and reconciliation of the band The Mars Volta.<\/p>\n

Presale tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 9, and general tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 10 at Ticketmaster.com<\/a><\/p>\n

So far, the band has announced a 9-date run of shows. They are taking the stage at this year’s annual Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, Ky., according to theprp.com<\/a><\/p>\n

The band is known for its energetic live shows and\u00a0concept albums. Members have roots in At the Drive-In, another band formed by Mars Volta members Omar Rodr\u00edguez-L\u00f3pez\u00a0(guitar, producer, direction) and\u00a0Cedric Bixler-Zavala\u00a0(vocals, lyrics).<\/p>\n
