April means that Fiesta is right around the corner, but local breweries are already in party mode. A much-missed pub chain is plotting a San Antonio comeback, new spring beers are flowing, and one local taproom is feeling ducky.<\/p>\n

Down to brass tacks
After closing in 2018, Brass Tap is reportedly eyeing<\/a> a multi-unit return to Alamo City. The Florida-based pub chain only had a brief run in San Antonio, opening in 2015 with more than 50 craft beers on tap. Three years later, the franchise filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and shuttered the Rim bar. The company is currently seeking partners to help plot its San Antonio rebirth.<\/p>\n

San Antonio\u2019s brewery scene may be embattled<\/a>, but beer remains one of the most affordable options for a night out. Point-of-sale company Toast says the city has the cheapest average pint <\/a>price in the U.S. at only $5.99. It\u2019s also the only city where prices dropped, falling by a slight 0.4 percent year-over-year. The place with the least bang for the buck? New York City, of course, now sells pours at a median price above $9.<\/p>\n

Roadmap tees up givingDowntown\u2019s Roadmap Brewing Co.<\/a> is lending a hand to San Antonio nonprofits this spring. The brewery regularly donates $1 from every sale of its house pilsner, drip coffee and non-alcoholic beer to different charities each month. But in April, Roadmap will donate to three nonprofits: SNIPSA <\/a>, Snack Pak 4 Kids<\/a>, and Kingdom for Kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to the direct giving, Roadmap is offering guests a chance to \u201cadopt\u201d a rubber duck at the San Antonio Duck Derby<\/a>, held May 9 on the San Antonio River at the Pearl amphitheater. Every sponsored quacker helps the nonprofits support local animals and children.<\/p>\n

If that is not enough to lure fans to Roadmap for a round, maybe miniature golf inside the brewery will be a hole-in-one. The second Roadmap Open will be held April 10-12 during The Masters tournament.<\/p>\n

Like last year\u2019s inaugural event, the Roadmap Open features a nine-hole mini golf course winding through the brewery grounds. A big screen projector will broadcast the swing-by-swing action and kids can sip unlimited lemonade. Guests can also nab special merch to wear to their next tee time.<\/p>\n

Dos Sirenos Brewing<\/a> just released the Mooo-cha Latte Milk Stout, a boozy beverage that clocks in at nearly 10% ABV<\/p>\n

Thirsty Pups Brewery <\/a>is serving up A Matcha Made in Castle Hills, a collaborative IPA made with Fine Line Cookies<\/a> that contains bright citrus and tropical hop aromas, and the earthy character of Japanese green tea<\/p>\n

Freetail Brewing Co<\/a>. released Lemon Lavender Lite, a light ale that boasts a smooth, light taste with a bit of lemon zest and lavender<\/p>\n

North of Seguin,BS Brewing<\/a> is offering maple pecan ale, a variation of BS\u2019 pecan ale blended with cookies, vanilla, and maple syrup.<\/p>\n
