A\u00a0storm is brewing<\/a> over Texas this week, and it means gloomy days ahead for the Alamo City.<\/a> Brace for possible heavy rain, thunderstorms or hail potential as clouds roll.<\/p>\n

Most of the forecast this week includes some level of thunderstorm chance, starting on Wednesday, April 7. A 20% to 40% thunderstorm odd looms over San Antonio<\/a> all week and well into the weekend, and the National Weather Service warns some of these storms may become severe.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny rainfall at this point is beneficial, so despite the threat for severe weather, we will take the chance at rainfall when we can,\u201d the National Weather Service <\/a>San Antonio-Austin office warns.<\/p>\n

The national forecaster defines a severe thunderstorm as any weather event that brings hail that\u2019s 1 inch or larger or wind speeds of at least 58 mph. The highest storm odds in San Antonio are Thursday afternoon, at 40%, and Friday afternoon when odds peak at 50%.<\/p>\n

However, The Weather Channel<\/a> says storms are far more likely. The weather predictor says there\u2019s a whopping 70% to 50% chance of thunderstorms Friday through Sunday. And, unfortunately, these gloomy odds linger through the weekend and well into the start of the next workweek.<\/p>\n

These stormy days also spell a continued cooling patter for San Antonio, avoiding more 90-degree days through the week. Highs should peak in the low 80s most afternoons and dip into the upper 60s and low 70s each night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A\u00a0storm is brewing over Texas this week, and it means gloomy days ahead for the Alamo City.
