The first week of May alone includes a packed lineup of events from reunions and a basketball tournament to a triathlon.

Tourism leaders say this kind of back-to-back scheduling is exactly what the city aims for.

April 30-May 6 USS Albemarle/USNS Corpus Christi Bay Reunion Association

May 2-3 Ji2 3v3 Basketball Tournament

May 3 Corpus Christi Triathlon

May 4-8 South Central Arc User Group

May 4-9 Association of Rodeo Committees

May 18-21 Texas Justice Court Training Center

May 19-24 Classic and Equipped Age Nationals

May 22-25 ILCA U.S. National Championship

May 28-30 Banana Ball World Tour

America Segura with Visit Corpus Christi says events like these are critical not just for entertainment, but for the local economy.

“And so some of our top businesses here, they would not be able to survive without, that influx of visitation and steady cadence throughout the year. So that’s exactly what group business does when we’re bringing in group business to, you know, have their events and conventions over at the Hilliard Center or their tournaments out on McGee Beach,” said Segura.

As the month continues, even larger events take over. Beach to Bay is expected to generate more than $1 million in economic impact, while national-level competitions including powerlifting championships and a sailing regatta bring in athletes and spectators from across the country.

The month wraps up with a major first for the city, the Banana Ball World Tour at Whataburger Field, expected to draw thousands of fans downtown over multiple nights.

Organizers say beyond the numbers, the goal is to create experiences that keep visitors coming back year after year, helping support local businesses and strengthen the city’s tourism economy.

[14
155,157,156
0":"post-239558","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-corpus-christi","8":"tag-corpus-christi","9":"tag-corpus-christi-headlines","10":"tag-corpus-christi-news
["GET
