EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A late-night crash in west El Paso on Monday left a 56-year-old man dead and prompted a DWI investigation, police said.<\/p>\n

The El Paso Police Department responded at 9:17 p.m. to the 6300 block of N. Desert for two separate collisions.<\/p>\n

Police said the first collision involved four vehicles. <\/p>\n

Just after that crash, a separate collision occurred involving a 2016 BMW 428i and a 2026 Subaru Outback.<\/p>\n

Investigators said Jaime Humberto Andrade, a 56-year-old El Paso resident who was driving the Subaru Outback, was struck from behind at a high rate of speed by the BMW. <\/p>\n

The BMW driver was identified as Ambar Chavira, a 19-year-old El Paso resident<\/p>\n

Chavira is being charged with a collision involving death.<\/p>\n

Andrade was taken to the hospital but later died from injuries sustained in the collision, police said.<\/p>\n

Special Traffic Investigators and the DWI Task Force were called to the scene. <\/p>\n

Investigators believe alcohol is a contributing factor in the collision.<\/p>\n

Police said this was the 15th traffic fatality of the year, compared with 19 at the same time last year. <\/p>\n
