As the road project to extend Wyoming Springs to Old Settlers Boulevard progresses, crews will add traffic signal arms at its intersections with Creek Bend Boulevard and Old Settlers Blvd., per an April 1 update<\/a> from the city of Round Rock.<\/p>\n

About the project <\/p>\n

Extending Wyoming Springs between Creek Bend Boulevard and Old Settlers Boulevard is intended to enhance connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in western Round Rock, as previously reported by Community Impact<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The $29.7 million road project is funded through a combination of sales tax revenue, city-issued bonds and the Williamson County Road Bond program.<\/p>\n

The road extension<\/a> includes a four-lane divided roadway and shared-use paths from Creek Bend Boulevard to Old Settlers Boulevard, and extending over Brushy Creek. By offering an additional north-south route in west Round Rock, the Wyoming Springs extension is expected to reduce traffic congestion on Old Settlers Boulevard, Sam Bass Road and Creek Bend Boulevard, according to city staff.<\/p>\n

How we got here<\/p>\n

Construction on the roadway began in December 2024<\/a>, after five years of planning and design work.
