{"id":240561,"date":"2026-04-08T16:17:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T16:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/240561\/"},"modified":"2026-04-08T16:17:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T16:17:09","slug":"fbi-offers-50k-reward-in-garland-triple-murder-case-nbc-5-dallas-fort-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/240561\/","title":{"rendered":"FBI offers $50K reward in Garland triple murder case \u2013 NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Garland Police and the FBI will hold a news conference Wednesday morning where Garland Chief of Police Jeff Bryan, FBI Special Agent in Charge Joe Rothrock, Lead Detective Lucas Shupe and FBI Assistant SAC Jeremy Wright are expected to speak.<\/p>\n<p>Abel Elias Acosta is wanted in Dallas County, facing charges including capital murder of multiple persons, in connection with the deadly shooting of three teenagers in Garland.<\/p>\n<p>The crime occurred the day after Christmas, 2021. Garland Police were called to a convenience store for reports of multiple gunshot victims. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/grieving-families-seek-answers-for-garland-triple-homicide\/2847629\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Three victims, 17-year-old Rafael Garcia, 16-year-old Ivan Noyola, and 14-year-old Xavier Gonzalez<\/a>, were found dead by police. A fourth victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Acosta, who was 14 years old at the time, was identified as the alleged shooter. Surveillance video shows a man getting out of a pickup truck and starting to shoot. Seconds later, the shooter ran outside and got back in the truck. Acosta&#8217;s father, Richard Acosta, was later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/father-guilty-of-capital-murder-for-role-in-teen-sons-deadly-ambush\/3191945\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">indicted and convicted<\/a> for capital murder for his role in driving the truck.<\/p>\n<p>A warrant for capital murder was issued for Abel Acosta in 2021, and a federal warrant was issued for an unlawful flight to avoid prosecution charge, but he<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/search-for-teen-behind-deadly-ambush-in-garland-continues-two-years-later\/3419817\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"> has not been taken into custody.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ABEL-ACOSTA-FBI-WANTED-2026.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>According to a press release, Investigators say they believe Acosta fled to Mexico and remains there.
