State records show a total of 296 workers across four locations tied to HCA Healthcare hospitals in Harris County will be affected. The layoffs are scheduled to take effect June 13, according to the WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) filings.<\/p>\n
The impacted sites include:<\/p>\n
HCA Kingwood, with 81 layoffs <\/p>\n
HCA Clear Lake, with 86 layoffs <\/p>\n
HCA Women\u2019s Hospital of Texas, with 66 layoffs <\/p>\n
HCA Southeast Texas Medical Center, with 63 layoffs <\/p>\n
All locations are within the Gulf Coast Workforce Development Area.<\/p>\n
The WARN notice does not specify a reason for the layoffs. However, filings indicate Sodexo provides food services at the hospitals, suggesting the cuts could be tied to a change in vendor contracts. It is unclear whether another company will take over operations or if workers could be rehired under a new contractor.<\/p>\n
