She also asked if the plan would strive to create parks within walking distance of every Bellaire neighborhood.

In response, Smith said the city does have several “park deserts,” and the department is looking at the feasibility of incorporating public parks within a 10-minute walk of each neighborhood in the city.

One more thing

Additionally, Smith said communication is the most important part of the process and that the department will be planning pop-up events, statistical surveys and open houses for residents to attend.

“Every chance we get to talk with somebody, we are going to try and capture data,” he said.

Bellaire City Council has taken steps to develop a new Parks Master Plan, which the city’s website describes…

[7
75875,6863,4519,18104,56879,1604,23564,3576,56,58,57,1454,223,75874
0":"post-241238","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-houston","8":"tag-beautification","9":"tag-bellaire","10":"tag-city-council","11":"tag-city-government","12":"tag-city-staff","13":"tag-community-impact","14":"tag-council-members","15":"tag-flooding","16":"tag-houston","17":"tag-houston-headlines","18":"tag-houston-news","19":"tag-near-me","20":"tag-news","21":"tag-strategic-planning
["GET
