Income from the endowment supports performances and other activities. The DSO\u2019s O\u2019Donnell match comes three months after the Dallas Opera completed its own $25 million challenge from the Dallas foundation. Founded in 1957 by the late Edith and Peter O\u2019Donnell Jr., the foundation supports math, science and the arts.
