Before the second half of Sun Belt Conference play, the Trojans are five games behind Marshall for the No. 1 seed and two games ahead of the cutline for league postseason play.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nWith the final league meeting with the Bobcats (25-16, 6-6 SBC) this weekend before they leave for the Pac-12 in 2026-27, the Trojans are 6-5-1 at home in the series. Overall, Troy is 13-24-1 all-time against Texas State, winning the series, 2-1, against the opposition in San Marcos last season. The Trojans are 2-1 in their last three series with the Bobcats.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/troytrojans.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/esmee-ames\/11761\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11761\" target=\"_blank\">Esmee Ames<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/troytrojans.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/savannah-money\/11766\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11766\" target=\"_blank\">Savannah Money<\/a> picked up a pair of victories on the mound on Wednesday afternoon in the doubleheader against West Georgia. In her second complete game of 2026, Ames pitched just one hit through seven innings with eight strikeouts. At the midway point of league play, the Bobcats are in a two-way tie with Coastal Carolina for the No. 5 spot in the conference standings.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Bobcats excel with their pitching as they lead the conference in earned runs averaged at 2.58, which ranks 16th in the nation. They also turn the most double plays in the SBC with 24 \u2013 the sixth most in D-I softball. Maddy Azua&#8217;s made 32 appearances on the mound for the most in the league and fourth-most in the country. She leads all SBC pitchers with a 1.91 ERA through 157.1 innings pitched.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nNotables<br \/>\n\u2022 Troy has won two of its last three series against Texas State, winning the series 2-1 last year in San Marcos.
