(David Woo\/The Dallas Morning News)<\/p>\n<p>David Woo &#8211; Staff Photographer<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has named Dallas lawyer David Woodcock as its new director of enforcement, overseeing the agency\u2019s federal civil corporate securities and fraud investigations and prosecutions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-channels-pixel.ex.co\/events\/0012000001fxZm9AAE?integrationType=DEFAULT&amp;template=design%2Farticle%2Fplatypus_two_column.tpl\" alt=\"\" class=\"x1px y1px vh abs\" aria-hidden=\"true\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Woodcock is taking a multimillion-dollar pay cut by leaving the corporate law firm Gibson, Dunn &amp; Crutcher, where he has been a partner in Dallas since 2023, to return to public service.
