The agreement expires in 2028, and Sylvester told council members the best option would be to spend $490,000 to replace the current system.<\/p>\n<p>The city now pays about $29,000 annually to maintain the system, Sylvester said, adding that \u201clike everything, those costs are going up.\u201d He projects maintenance costs could increase about 15% annually when the current agreement expires, reaching roughly $51,000 per year. an agreement with Motorola to provide police, fire and medical emergency communications.
