A new cocktail concept with ties to a popular downtown bar<\/a> is nearly ready to debut in San Antonio just in time for Fiesta celebrations that will soon take over the city.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Paradise Unknown will open to the public in an official capacity on April 16, according to part-owner Alex Amaro, who had a hand in launching the eclectic bar, Be Kind and Rewind<\/a>, in 2022. The vibes of the new bar are said to be like a tropical oasis, akin to an island getaway.<\/p>\n

“At its core, Paradise Unknown is about escapism,\u201d Amaro said in a news release. “We wanted to create a space where people can walk in from the middle of downtown and feel like they\u2019ve been transported somewhere completely different and a little bit mysterious.”<\/p>\n

Cocktails at Paradise Unknown will reflect the tropical theme, and the bar will feature a menu of small bites crafted by chef Jaime Gonzalez of Wok Wey, which fuses Mexican and Chinese cuisines<\/a>. Like Be Kind and Rewind, Paradise Unknown is highly stylized and designed almost like something you’d\u00a0see in a movie, with\u00a0plenty of mood lighting and touches of playful kitsch throughout the space.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Somewhere between the music, the cocktails, and the glow of a hidden world, guests might find themselves wondering how they got there and why they don\u2019t want to leave,”\u00a0Amaro said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once it launches on April 16, Paradise Unknown will be open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Sundays. Happy hour will run from opening until 7 p.m. daily.\u00a0<\/p>\n
