Corpus Christi\u2019s Couture for a Cure celebrated its 10th year at Concrete Street, raising money for cancer research while honoring survivors, caregivers and families.<\/p>\n
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Community members gathered at Concrete Street Amphitheater Saturday night for the American Cancer Society\u2019s annual Couture for a Cure, marking a decade of raising money for cancer research.<\/p>\n
RELATED: New cholesterol guidelines aim to prevent heart disease earlier<\/a><\/p>\n This year\u2019s theme, \u201cHaute Havana,\u201d brought live salsa dancers, a fashion show and a silent auction, creating a festive atmosphere with a deeper purpose.<\/p>\n Organizers said the event is about more than celebration \u2014 it\u2019s about recognizing the people behind the cause.<\/p>\n Jennifer Butler, Co-Chair of Couture for a Cure, said each moment of the night is meant to honor those impacted by cancer.<\/p>\n \u201cWe use this night and this event to celebrate the caretakers and the loved ones of those who have been diagnosed with cancer or those who are fighting the fight,\u201d Butler said. \u201cWe really just want to celebrate them and have a great time and raise lots of money for research.\u201d<\/p>\n Each walk down the runway represented someone affected by cancer, highlighting personal stories tied to the disease.<\/p>\n 3NEWS First Edition anchor Lexis Greene served as emcee for the event!<\/p>\n Organizers said proceeds from the night go directly to the American Cancer Society to support life-saving cancer research.<\/p>\n More from 3NEWS on KIIITV.com: \u00a0<\/p>\n
